Bob Corey

Back in 1955, local entrepreneur Bob Corey opened the iconic Bob’s 19-Cent Hamburger Restaurant at “Capitol and Hood where the food is good!” In his retirement, Bob began a Chemeketa scholarship for high school graduates from Salem-Keizer schools.

Bob believed in the great potential of his young employees and worried that many of them would not be able to afford college. He saw Chemeketa as an important part of the education and career development of his young employees and created this scholarship to help as many people as possible.
